Grateful for the gift of more time William Metcalf

When he had a sudden heart attack, William and his wife Sonya knew he needed help fast. They rushed to Adventist Health and Rideout, where he was quickly taken to the cardiac catheterization lab. The interventional cardiologists and a care team of nurses and doctors alike performed life-saving stent placements. After just a few days in the hospital, William was able to return home, free of chest pain and carrying with him a renewed sense of life.
William’s story underscores the importance of having high-quality care close to home. Sonya credits the hospital for not only saving her husband’s life but also for the overflowing compassion shown by every person on the team.
“Every person in that hospital treated me and my family like we were the only people in the hospital, from the doctors and nurses to the housekeepers and café workers,” she said. “I am forever grateful for how much they cared for us.”
