Made for More Podcast | Episode 2

The second episode of Made for More, Adventist Health and Rideout’s patient-centered podcast, highlights the incredible journey of Sharon Floe, a longtime Yuba-Sutter community member who came to the Emergency Department with stroke-like symptoms. What unfolded next was a testament to the expertise, teamwork, and whole-person care provided at our hospital.

Sharon’s condition was more serious than it first appeared — she was diagnosed with a bloodstream infection that also impacted her heart. After being stabilized in the Intensive Care Unit, where teams worked diligently to regulate her temperature, blood pressure and oxygen levels, Sharon was moved to the fourth floor and eventually to 3 West before being discharged.

The episode also features Dr. Andrew Bellino, medical director at Adventist Health and Rideout, who provides expert insight into Sharon’s care progression. He underscores the vital role of rapid diagnosis, coordinated care, and the compassion that defines our mission.
